My Approach

Where children are free to learn, explore and grow at their own pace.

At Little Gems, I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) but I believe early education should feel natural, not forced.

Children learn best through play, relationships, exploration and everyday experiences in a nurturing, home-from-home environment.

Child-Led Learning

Following their lead, supporting their growth.

Children are naturally curious and full of wonder. I follow their interests and use these to create meaningful learning opportunities across the EYFS. This helps children become confident, motivated learners who love to explore and discover.

Emotional Wellbeing & Self-Regulation

Strong emotional foundations for life.

I help children understand their feelings, build resilience and learn to manage big emotions. Through nurturing relationships, consistent boundaries and plenty of support, children develop confidence, empathy and the tools they need to feel secure and self-regulated.

Learning Through Real Life

Real experiences. Real learning. Real memories.

From everyday moments to exciting adventures, children learn through experiences that are meaningful and memorable.

  • Farm trips
  • Parks & playgrounds
  • Baking & cooking
  • Nature & the outdoors
  • Stories & imagination
  • Music & movement
  • Soft play adventures
  • Creative & sensory play

Every Child Is an Individual

No comparisons. Just celebrating who they are.

Every child develops in their own unique way. I observe, understand and support each child from where they are, providing experiences that help them progress with confidence at their own pace.

Play is where the learning happens.

Little Gems isn't about constant crafts or formal activities. It's about giving children the time, space and freedom to play, explore, imagine and make sense of the world around them.

Through play, children build knowledge, solve problems, take risks, communicate, create and develop the skills they need for life. I plan with intention, but I always lead with what children need most – time to be children.

Nurturing today. Inspiring tomorrow.

I would love to welcome you and your child to Little Gems.
